A few weeks ago we were having spaghetti for supper and I wanted garlic bread. The problem was... it takes at least an hour to do bread sticks in my bread machine and I didn't have any other options on hand.
Well, except cans of crescent rolls. I had actually bought them to make Noah's Egg & Cheese Crescent Wraps but I knew I could get more before he even missed them, so I set out to make something garlicky to go along with supper.
I came up with these!! Since we have 6 kids, I used 2 cans of crescent rolls, but you could easily cut this in half or even one of those little cans with 4 rolls (or do they have 5?)!
First, I took a glass measuring cup and put in half a stick of salted butter (4 Tbsp), then I put 1 tsp. of garlic salt (the Lawry's Course Ground Garlic Salt with Parsley is my absolute favorite... it's all I'll use!) and 1 tsp. of Italian seasoning. I popped it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes until it's melted. Stir it around and let it sit for a minute.
Roll out the crescents on a cookie sheet and brush them with the melted seasoned butter.
How about that little silicone brush? Isn't it the cutest thing ever? I bought it a few years ago and it's still a favorite!
Anywho... after you brush on the butter, sprinkle them with shredded Parmesan...
...then roll them up and brush them with more seasoned butter.
I like to be rather generous with the butter... but you could cut back if butter is not that important to you. But really... who doesn't love a good smathering of garlic butter? I say, the more, the better!!
Bake at 375° for 11-13 minutes - or until golden brown and you're done! Well, you could actually brush on some more butter after they're baked, but that might be going a bit overboard...or not?! Ha!!
Enjoy 🙂

I just made these last night and my family demolished them. I did add a few teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of spice and they were gone within minutes!

It says garlic salt in the story and the ingredients, but says garlic powder in the instructions. Since there is a link to a brand of garlic salt, I had to assume salt was correct. I was a little leery of using salt because I have used powder for garlic bread previously and it's been fine. But I like to follow a recipe as written the first time. Unfortunately, it was too salty using the garlic salt. I'm not exaggerating! We had to throw them away. I think it will be a good recipe if you use garlic powder instead.

Hey Lynn - I absolutely use the Lawry's garlic salt and recommend it but if you want to use powder to appeal to your taste, then go for it! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Rose these sound amazing. Wondering if you ever prepared them and bake them several hours later. Wanting to take them to a party but bake them there.
Thanks

I haven't but I imagine they'd do okay. I'd likely keep them in a warm crockpot with a damp cloth over the top to keep them moist.

Snap! I just put them in the oven and realized I put the cheese on top instead of inside. Here's to hoping they still turn out!
