This Cookies & Milk Cake and Cupcakes is maybe one of my most favorite designs ever. It is really a very simple design, but gosh, I just love it! This is another design from way back in 2014.... I can't believe I haven't shared it before now!
I mean really... isn't that the sweetest thing for a 2nd birthday?
So, let me tell you a little about this cake! It was an 8" round cake... vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and covered in homemade marshmallow fondant. I used Americolor Soft Pink to tint the fondant and the buttercream on the cupcakes.
The cookies and the milk bottle were also made with homemade marshmallow fondant - except the chocolate chips were um, chocolate chips 😉
I hand-cut the milk bottle and used a ribbon cutter to make the "stripes" for the top and bottom. I used the "2" from this number cookie cutters set to cut out the number.
In addition to the cake, I made two dozen chocolate chip cupcakes topped with soft pink vanilla buttercream then topped with a real chocolate chip cookie.
I piped the vanilla buttercream with an Ateco #825 Piping tip and I didn't skimp on the frosting! Because everybody needs at least as much frosting as cake, right? Haha!
Probably my only regret for this design... looking back on it now two years after making it is that I didn't go that extra mile to make the cake board pretty. Now I'm always taking a little extra time to make my boards prettier 🙂 See my favorite way to do that here.
But honestly, I don't think my customers stress over that extra touch as much as I do!
Anywho... that's that!

OMGosh!! I probably love it as much as or more than you do lol!! It's absolutely fabulous. The soft pink color just makes it. Question.... what did you use to get everything to stand so perfectly on their edges like that?? You had to anticipate this as one of the first questions you'd get! 😉 Thanks! -- Rachael

Thank you!! Do you mean the cookies on top? I let them dry overnight, then I "glued" lollipop sticks to the back with melted chocolate and poked them in the cake to stand them up!
